My dear, sweet friend and companion for the last 13 years, the most amazing dog I have ever met, has barked her last bark, eaten her last treat, taken her last car ride, gone on her last walk.
She passed away peacefully of natural causes. I was with her in the end, petting her and telling her she was a good girl.
As she was breathing her last, my phone alarm went off and The Real Folk Bluesbegan to play.
How can we honor the memory of a dog like Pi? Like all things, she was governed by the laws of physics. It is a scientific fact that hearts and clocks slow down as they approach the speed of light. Pi's heart reached that speed at 3:05pm on January 29, 2018, transforming her matter into energy, into pure white light. And though she is no longer with us, she is all around us.
Bye bye, Pi.
